HouseChurches

Small Groups are the life of Trinity Church. Small Groups, which we call HouseChurches, are the primary we connect with one another and grow in our faith.

At Trinity, we don’t consider ourselves a church that has small groups, but we are a church comprised of small groups. They are that essential! Here’s how our Core Value puts it:

A SMALL GROUP OF ADULTS GROWING IN CHRIST TOGETHER

The church is not a place or event, but a community of people. The people of Trinity Church are being redeemed, knit together, and conformed to the image of God as we share life together, responding to the life-altering message of the Gospel in our day-to-day lives. And, although we are saved by grace alone through faith alone, our faith never remains alone. Housechurches are Trinity Church’s primary tool for discipleship and developing the spiritual habit of fellowship.

They are a home-based, reproducing, small group discipleship ministry that is an effective means of reconciling and building meaningful, loving relationships (with one another and God), encouraging spiritual growth and maturity, and developing leaders. Housechurch provides a place for connectedness and belonging that is not always possible in a larger gathering. In housechurches, we open our lives to know God, and to know and be known by each other. We desire for our housechurches and the community of Trinity Church to be rooted in grace, fed by the Word, and flourish in service.

FAQ

What do HouseChurches do? HouseChurches meet for two reasons: to connect to each other and God’s Word. That’s why at every meeting there will be time to talk together, get to know each other more, share prayer requests and pray together. We also spend time in the Word each week; whether we discuss the past week’s sermon or study another book of the Bible, we grow together best when we are in the Word together.

How often do they meet? HouseChurches meet weekly. Some break for the summer, some are year-round.

When do they meet? HouseChurches meet on weeknights, currently Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Where do they meet? We meet in people’s homes, which makes them extra fun and connects us to each other in deeper ways.

Who leads HouseChurches? Each HouseChurch has two sets of co-leaders (either two couples, or an individual and a couple).

How do I get plugged in? Reach out! We’d love for you to visit and check out a HouseChurch and help you find a place to connect to God’s people and to His Word!

How big is each group? We aim for each group to be between 8 and 12 people, some groups are bigger than that (which is how we know it’s almost time to launch another HouseChurch)!

Are all the groups open? Are any of them closed? Our philosophy of ministry is that our HouseChurches are “open groups with close ties” which means that all of our groups welcome visitors at any time. None of them are considered “closed” or “full”. Visit any or all of the HouseChurches, and once you find one that is a good fit, we encourage you to commit to that group and grow deep in those relationships.
